the thoughts of yesterday still haunt me

they ride through my head like horses in the wild

they run wild and free

the thoughts of yesterday still haunt me

the mistakes, the perfect moments and those that got away

the thoughts that make me smile

and those that make me and wish time would stand still

those moments that took my breath away

still play

in my mind like a movies stuck in one scene

they play over and over again

the thoughts of yesterday still haunt me

the thoughts of the one that got away

the one that stole my breath never to return it

the one that left me dying in her shadow

the thoughts of yesterday still haunt me

the thought of the one that made me smile

while in pain as I watched her walk away

the thought of yesterday’s mistakes and regrets

still plague my mind and  every thought I have

the thoughts of yesterday still haunt me

the thoughts of tomorrow are treasures

that make the past jealous and green with envy

because even if you dwell on the past

time doesn’t stand still and the future and life must go on
