The Silent Voices Speak
I was ready to riot
To hold my hands up
high and shout
Viva to a cause I never knew,
A cause I never felt,
Yet I was ready to
pick up arms in solidarity
To proclaim that the revolution had began
That the silenced voiced would be heard loud
and clear
That the crowds would cheer
As the next generation
slay this hidden monster
That forever promises
to tear us down
I was ready to proclaim the revolution had
began,
A revolution fuelled
by anger
And the restless
spirits that turn in unmarked graves
While their families
wonder where their children had gone
I was ready to speak of a revolution
That would shake nations to the core
That would force
governments to stand and listen
As the tired youth
speak
This revolution championed by those that chose
not to sit idly by
And accept the status
quo as unchanging
Those who chose not to
remain voiceless
While the monsters of
racism flourish beneath the shadows
Viva to those whose
voices have risen
Risen to greet the
sunrise in the morning
As if signalling the
beginning of a new era
Viva to those voices
that echoed where no sound could reach
Viva to the beating
heart that surely speak of better times then this
Viva to those that
take the first step to greatness
Those who inspire
others to follow but not lead them astray
I am ready to proclaim
the revolution has began
That the lions shall
roar proudly
As they usher in a new
era for the restless souls that float idly by
Those who are pushed aside by forces that
oppress the weak
VIVA! VIVA! VIVA
