I Thought We Had The Time

I thought we had the time,
That we would sway side to side
Dancing in the wind,
That you would have your head
Placed strategically on my chest,
That my heartbeat would be the rhythm
That had us dancing nonstop,
I thought we had the time,
The time to kiss in the rain
While the water washed away
 All the problems we have,
That we would have a moment
Where we transcended
And all things were made clear,
That the rain drops would bring blessings,
And they would be bestowed upon us
As if condoning that our hearts beat as one,
 I thought we had time,
Time to gaze at the blooming flowers,
While my mind metaphorically
Links your beauty to the blooming seasons,
Radiantly radiating from inward
And bursting out for the world to treasure,
I thought we had the time,
The time to share cute meaningless laughs,
The laughs that constantly reveal your beautiful smile
That is triggered by your dancing heart,
The laughs that reveals that dimple
That appears every time you are truly happy,
I thought we had the time,
The time to be comfortable in each other’s arms,
I thought we had the time
But in the mitts of our happiness time slipped away
Now all we left with is empty goodbyes
And broken hearts,
Where did the time go and how do we get it back
