Society Killed Me
Society killed me
Strip me bare until all was left was bone
No one heard me moan as their words sliced into my
flashed
They skinned me until my carcass is all that remain
Their expectation destroyed my humanity
All that was left is this fragile blob that all want
to configure
Society killed me
They stretched me in all directions as I tried to fit
in
All wanted a piece they tore me till I was no more
I gazed at the mirror what gazed back was the empty
shell
An empty shell that supports no life
I wanted to run as society tore me to shreds but I was
weak
They programmed uniformity until no individual was
visible
Society killed me
A robot took my place
Yes Ma’am, Yes Sir is all I can say
I cannot argue for the things I do
For the things I do are not mine
I’ve been programmed to follow the commands of
conformity
Programmed to be a docile body that follows
instruction at whim
Society killed my individuality
It killed my creativity
It destroyed every notion to question my existence
All that remain is a shell that is easily control
Society killed me
