They think they know me
They think they know my struggle
They think they know my pain
They think they know about the sleepless nights
When the pillow was filled with tears
But I still never proclaimed defeat
They think they know about the blocked mind
When words just refused to come out
When the expression of how I felt seemed foreign to me
They think they know about the heartache
When things never went my way
When the rejection came and I was left at bay
They think they know about the times when I knelt down
And silenced filled the room as my soul spoke with my
creator
I never spoke with my mouth
For I knew it couldn’t truly express my pain
I spoke from my soul for I knew my pain cut deep
My soul cried for peace, it cried for love and it
cried for happiness
They think they know that my heart was broken
And that hearing the voice of the one I love would
mend it
They think they know about the moments
Where defeat was a door away
When logging out seemed the best option
They think they know about my resilience
They think they know about my ambition
The stream that feed my fighting spirit forever flows
So if they think they know me they must think again
I live with my struggle, I live with my pain, and I live
with my short comings
But they do not define me and they do not hold me back
If they think they know me
They haven’t seen my transformation
They haven’t seen my light
Which will shine brighter for those that need it
It shall be a beacon of hope for the hopeless
It shall give warmth to those that need it
My transformation is coming and none shall prevent it
For in his grace I know I will grow
If they think they know me
They must think again
