Key to Harmony
Shall we speak?
Or do shall we sit and wallow
In the tension
This silence brings
Lost for words
Tongues cut out
Can't speak so it seems
This love cracking
Crackling
Breaking at the seams
Pride muted and stole
Words that would provide relief
And brought us out this hole
Yet we whole-heartedly remain
Lip locked, tongued tied
Basting in anger and grief
Fuming and fuelling
The distance and tension we create
If only we were, brave
And bold enough to rise up
And utter the feelings we
harbour
Before they consume us
And we begin to hate each other
Will we speak?
Or will we sit and wallow
In the silence
Increasing this tension
Wedged in between two hearts
Who swore never to drifted apart
Tongue-tied
Jaw locked shut
If only feelings were
communicated
We would be lost in each other
Not trying to escape every place
That draws us together
In an effort to find peace
